The newly appointed leader of Hezbollah announced on Wednesday that the organization is prepared to agree to a ceasefire with Israel, but only under specific conditions.

"The upcoming U.S. elections seem to be a pivotal moment in this war. Israel’s losses on the ground will weigh heavily on their decisions, as they have failed to achieve any of their objectives," declared the new Hezbollah Secretary-General, appointed just a day prior. He emphasized, "We do not know when all these factors might lead to an end to the war, but we continue the fight and will not beg for a ceasefire. If the Israelis want to stop, it will be on our terms."

Regarding the ongoing negotiations, the Hezbollah leader noted that they "have not yet yielded any results."

He added that Hezbollah is "on the same page" as Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berry, who has been handling the discussions on behalf of Lebanon.

Meanwhile, multiple Israeli media outlets reported that U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein and another senior adviser to President Joe Biden are expected to arrive in Israel tomorrow to discuss the terms of a potential ceasefire with Lebanon.
