Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and addressing regional challenges.
The meeting took place ahead of the 10th Egypt-Cyprus-Greece Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism Summit, a key platform for advancing shared interests across the Eastern Mediterranean.
During their meeting, Sisi and Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of intensifying collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the economy, energy, and migration management.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening efforts under the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF), advancing the power interconnection project between Egypt and Greece and facilitating seasonal employment of Egyptian workers in Greece.
The leaders also underscored their shared dedication to regional stability, emphasizing the need for de-escalation in the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.
Sisi and Mitsotakis addressed pressing regional issues, including the crises in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Libya, and Sudan.
