Faure Gnassingbé, President of the Council of the Republic of Togo, is attending the “Chad Connexion 2030” Forum in Abu Dhabi this Monday to strengthen regional cooperation on trade and investment.
The high-level forum, aimed at mobilizing resources for Chad’s National Development Plan, brings together heads of state, international institutions, development banks, and business leaders. Togo’s participation reflects its firm commitment to South-South cooperation and its openness to experience-sharing in sustainable and inclusive development.
Gnassingbé is expected to showcase Togo’s national development journey, notably the 2018–2022 National Development Plan (PND) and the current Togo 2025 Government Roadmap, both driven by public-private partnerships and aimed at structural economic transformation, job creation, and social inclusion.
The event also highlights the strong and growing partnership between Togo and the United Arab Emirates, a relationship that has already yielded significant achievements, including the Blitta solar power plant and key road infrastructure projects.
These initiatives demonstrate the UAE’s commitment to supporting African nations in achieving energy transition and sustainable infrastructure goals.
As Abu Dhabi strengthens its position as a key platform for African investment and diplomacy, Togo’s active participation underscores its regional leadership and ambition to serve as a model for resilience and innovation in West Africa.
