Following intelligence provided by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet, the Israeli Air Force carried out a precise strike on a compound located inside an UNRWA school in the Nuseirat area of Gaza where Hamas terrorists - including an anti-tank missile operative and a Nukhba terrorist - were operating, according to the IDF.
The compound that was struck also contained weapons, including mortars and explosives, as evidenced by the numerous secondary explosions after the air strike. The strike was carefully planned and carried out using precise munitions to mitigate any harm to civilians in the area.
Officials of UNRWA in New York continue to assert that their infrastructure in Gaza is not used by Hamas and their allies.
Similarly, they downplay the affiliation with Hamas of hundreds of their employees.
Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, refuses to acknowledge the evidence, like most of his colleagues at the UN.

Japan will not recognise a Palestinian state for now, a decision likely taken to maintain relations with the United States and to avoid a hardening of Israel's attitude, the Asahi newspaper reported on Wednesday, citing unidentified government sources.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Tuesday accused Israel of being “determined to go all the way” in its war in Gaza and unwilling to engage in “serious negotiations” toward a ceasefire. He went further, calling the situation in Gaza “morally, politically and legally intolerable.”
