Iranian officials impudently talk about Assad’s debts and the bilateral treaties signed by Iran and Assad’s regime.
They think that these accords are still valid and that the new government in Damascus will recognize these accords.
That was just a few hours after my interview with the Israeli TV Channel I24 which was simultaneously broadcast in English, Arabic and Hebrew,French. In this interview, I said that we are looking forward to making just peace with the State of Israel and that the Iranian Embassy in Damascus should be turned into an embassy of Israel on which the Israeli flag should be flying.
The Iranian Regime has not understood yet that Syrians consider this regime as the worst and biggest devil and that Iran is an enemy of Syria and the Syrian people, if not of all peoples in the region.
For Syrians, Iran is the most prominent ally of Assad. Iranian regime has pushed Assad’s regime to use the utmost violence and brutality in cracking down the peaceful demonstrations since March 2011.
Iran has helped Assad with military and security advisors and sent its terrorist groups like Hezbollah, Afghani, Pakistani, Yemeni and Iraqi militias.
It has also sent militants of the Polisario Front to fight with Assad. These Iranian tools have taken part in killing and displacing Syrians after destroying their towns and villages.
Iran is legally, politically, morally and economically responsible for taking part in all massacres and crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in Syria. Under no circumstances, can any sane Syrian forgive these crimes committed by Iran and its tools.
The Syrian people will never accept any form of normalization with Iran unless the following conditions are met:
I - Iran should pay full compensations for all the human and material losses to the Syrian state treasury which can be estimated up to 500 billion USD;
II - Iran should make a formal apology to the Syrian state ad people for all the crimes, massacres and violations committed by Iran and its terrorist gangs in Syria;
III - Iran should formally pledge not to interfere with the Syrian internal affairs.
IV - All leaders of Iranian militias should be handed over to the Syrian State for prosecution by Syrian courts.
In case Iran meets all these conditions, the political relations with Iran will be at the lowest level. As we are sure that the Iranian Regime will never meet any of these conditions and will never stop its hostile policies against Syria and other Arab states,
We demand the interim authority in Damascus to immediately take all legal procedures without any delay and abduct all Iranian real estates, possessions and moveable and immovable properties in Syria including those registered for agent personnel or firms of any nationality.
All properties and assets that belong to Iranian residents and those who got Syrian citizenship during the war should be confiscated and go to the Syrian state treasury as a small part of the compensations due to be paid to the Syrian State by Iran.
Syrian interim government in Damascus should ban and dismantle all societies and organizations that belong to or supported by Iran no matter if they are charity institutions or cultural and religious centers.
All Syrian involved in these malignant activities of these societies and organizations should be brought to justice. Brokers who helped Iranians possess, rent or buy any real estate or any other property should be also brought to justice.
The Interim Authority in Damascus should take all immediate measures to ban any entry for Iranians to Syrian territories. It should also ban any Syrian citizen from travelling to Iran. Syria passports should include a note saying that the holder of Syrian passport can travel to all countries of the World except Iran. Religious tourism should also be banned, especially those coming from Iraq.
By force of law, the Syrian State is not responsible for any legal or political consequences of the agreements signed by Iran and Assad’s regime during the war. All these military, economic and political accords are worth less than the ink used in writing and signing them.
Our problem as Syrians is with the Iranian Regime. We have no problem with the Iranian peoples who themselves suffer from this Iranian regime like we have done.
The Iranian interests in Syria, direct or indirect, in Syria will never exist and will be on the lowest possible level. These interests will be sponsored through a third party.
Moreover, any attempt by any Syrian party to restore relations with the Iranian regime will be a reason for another revolution that will lead to toppling down any ruler in Syria.
Our problem as Syrians is with the Iranian Regime. We have no problem with the Iranian peoples who themselves suffer from this Iranian regime like we have done.
In 2018 I have met an American official who is a close friend of mine and he was very enthusiastic about my project proposal which I presented to the Congress and House of Senates under the title: “Iran Accountability Act”. Today this official, who is close to President Donald Trump, is more enthusiastic about this project.
My project proposal briefly demonstrates the Iranian policies since 1979 and how it has always threatened the interests of the United States of America and its allies in the Middle East and North Africa. I have also shed light on the crimes and massacres Iran has so far committed in Syria, and how it killed and displaced Syrians, destroyed their towns and villages and spread terror, extremism and drugs.
It should be taken into consideration that Iran has always considered the United States of America as the first enemy and promoted slogans like “Death to America and Israel”.
Iran has exported terrorism, extremism, drugs, instability, violence and antisemitism through financing Afghani, Pakistani and Iraqi militias and terrorist groups like Hezbollah Houthis in Yemen, Hamas and Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian terrorist organizations. This support culminated in the terrorist attack on 7th October 2023.
Iran hosts leaders of Al-Qaeda and currently it accelerates its nuclear program and has directly targeted Israel many times as well. Iran has become a real threat to the vital and strategic interests, security and stability of the United States of America and its allies.
Today, after neutralizing leaders of Hezbollah and destroying most of its military capabilities and the fall of Assad with his brutal state, the World has seen the horrors, atrocities and crimes of Assad ‘s regime and the amount of destruction in Syria.
The World has also seen the direct threat to Israel and the economic and financial losses Israel has been exposed to since the 7th of October 2023.
All these happened because Iran has pushed its terrorist groups like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Houthis and the Iraqi militias to target Israel and destabilize the Middle East.
All these losses in Syria, Israel and Lebanon together with the damages to the interests of the United States necessitate enacting the “Iran Accountability Act”.
This act is now more circulated and considered by the United States and other Western countries, especially after the stern sanctions that have been recently imposed on Iran by France, Germany and other countries.
With the forthcoming strikes against the Iranian nuclear program and its domination in Iraq and Yemen which come in the context of war against terror, extremism and antisemitism, the United States should no more turn a blind eye on the Iranian policies as a state that promotes and exports extremism and terrorism.
Iranian oil exports should be allowed only for financing “Oil against food” and “oil against reconstruction and compensations”.
These compensations should be dedicated to Syria and Israel for the human losses and the destruction. The United States should also be compensated for the losses related to its strategic interests. Iran’s assets, properties and funds including moveable and immovable properties in the Middle East and Europe should be confiscated because these properties have been used for promoting terrorism and extremism worldwide.
These funds should go to the victims of Iran’s policies.
To dry up all resources of terrorism and the random financial support to Lebanon with extermination of corruption, stern and effective measures should be taken to put these funds under strict censorship just like the case of the Palestinian Authority.
These compensations should be imposed on Iran through international collaboration, and they should include compensations for all the losses caused by Iran since 1979.
Iran should pay dearly the price for its crimes against the states and peoples in the region.
