French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his unwavering support for the families of French nationals Ofer Kalderon and Ohad Yahalomi, who are among the 33 hostages set to be released during the first phase of the Gaza agreement.
Macron shared this message on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, reaffirming France's commitment to securing the safe return of its citizens.
"We remain tirelessly mobilized to ensure their families can be reunited with them," Macron stated in his post.
The announcement comes after a ceasefire agreement was reached between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas to facilitate the release of hostages. This agreement marks a significant step toward alleviating the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and restoring a measure of stability in the region.
The ceasefire deal is seen as a critical diplomatic breakthrough amid escalating tensions. France, along with other international actors, continues to engage in diplomatic efforts to support the safe and prompt release of all hostages and to promote peace in the region.
