Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas "as a military formation, no longer exists" in the Gaza Strip, following over eleven months of conflict.

Gallant noted that Hamas has shifted to guerrilla warfare tactics and emphasized that Israeli forces are still actively engaging with Hamas militants and pursuing the group's leaders. "We are still fighting Hamas terrorists and tracking down the leaders of the movement," Gallant added in an interview with journalists on Monday, parts of which were cleared for publication on Tuesday.

These comments reflect the ongoing challenges faced by Israeli forces in Gaza as they continue to engage in operations against the remnants of Hamas' militant network.
