US strikes Iran, Tehran hits Gulf
U.S. and Iranian forces exchanged heavy missile and drone strikes with Tehran targeting U.S. facilities in states across the Gulf on Sunday after saying it had again closed the vital Strait of Hormuz.

Witnesses had earlier said security forces had sealed the Abu Alanda area in a wide scale security operation that comes two days after authorities announced they had detonated explosives uncovered in another location in the capital.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Oman on Saturday to discuss arrangements for the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, with Washington seeking a public pledge of free, secure transit.
A written statement from Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei threatened vengeance for the death of his predecessor and father on Saturday, but added that it would depend not only on Iran but also on "free people around the world".
