Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended his congratulations on Wednesday to Donald Trump following his election as the 47th President of the United States.
In a statement posted on social media, Netanyahu hailed Trump’s return to the White House as a significant moment for both nations, expressing optimism about the renewed partnership between the United States and Israel.
“Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America,” Netanyahu wrote.
Trump’s presidency is widely remembered in Israel for its strong support of the country’s interests, including the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the relocation of the U.S. Embassy, and the brokering of the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations.
Netanyahu’s message reflects a shared hope among Israeli leadership for a continuation of these policies and further strengthening of the strategic alliance between the two countries. As Trump prepares to assume office, the world will watch how his administration navigates Middle East diplomacy and security challenges, and what it means for the future of the U.S.-Israel relationship.
