Fahad Almasri, President of the National Salvation Front in Syria, has issued a message of congratulations to Donald J. Trump for his return to the presidency of the United States of America.
The statement highlights optimism for the future of U.S.-Middle East relations under President Trump’s leadership and envisions opportunities for collaboration between the United States and the emerging New Syria.
Almasri emphasizes the significance of Trump’s return to the White House, coinciding with pivotal changes in the Middle East.
The statement commends the U.S. for its recent actions, describing them as decisive and transformative in dismantling what is referred to as the “Iranian domination project” in the region. According to Almasri, these efforts have weakened key players like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Assad regime, which are viewed as obstacles to stability and peace.
The National Salvation Front expresses a desire to forge a strategic partnership between New Syria and the United States, grounded in shared values and mutual interests.
Almasri underscores the potential for bilateral efforts to achieve stability, security, and prosperity in the region. He calls for dialogue and mutual respect as the foundation for this partnership.
“Common interests of our two countries can be ensured through serious dialogue and mutual respect,” states Almasri.
The statement also appeals directly to President Trump to address unresolved issues in Syrian-Israeli relations. Fahad Almasri urges the U.S. administration to press Israel to withdraw from all Syrian territories it has occupied since December 8, 2024, and to promote a vision of just and permanent peace.
Almasri emphasizes that a stable and unified Syria is essential for achieving lasting peace in the region, stating:
“When Syria is weak and divided, no regional peace can be made, nor can the interests of the United States and its allies be secured.”
Fahad Almasri outlines an ambitious vision for regional security, including the establishment of a Regional Security Council and an Arab-regional NATO, coupled with a unified regional intelligence agency.
He believes such initiatives, under U.S. patronage, would promote political, military, and security cooperation among countries in the region, while also advancing economic collaboration on a global scale.
