Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas called on Hamas on Wednesday to “quickly finalize a prisoner exchange deal with Israel to spare further casualties to our Palestinian people.” 

"The Israeli occupation is waging an open war on the Gaza Strip, leading to the daily deaths of hundreds of Palestinians,” he said. 

“We must take responsibility for stopping this comprehensive war against the Palestinian people."
