On October 6, King Abdullah II of Jordan welcomed King Felipe VI of Spai as the two nations celebrated a significant milestone in their longstanding relationship.

The royal event marked the launch of a collaborative framework between the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority and the Board of Directors of the Alhambra Palace and Generalife in Spain.

This partnership aims to enhance tourism and cultural cooperation between Petra and Alhambra, both renowned UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The collaboration seeks to deepen the ties between Jordan and Spain, which have flourished for over seven decades. By focusing on expanding tourism opportunities and fostering cultural exchanges, this initiative aims to leverage the rich historical and cultural significance of Petra and Alhambra.

The framework underscores the importance of promoting mutual understanding and preserving the cultural heritage of both nations.

With Petra and Alhambra attracting millions of visitors annually, the collaboration is expected to bolster tourism and promote sustainable development in both regions.
