Spain will not join the multinational coalition whose aim is to ensure safe passage for merchant ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait, against the backdrop of the threat of drones and missiles by the Houthi rebels from Yemen.

This was announced by the Spanish Ministry of Defense, after several days of deliberation when it was not clear whether Spain would take part in the initiative.
