The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has issued a forceful condemnation following a wave of Israeli airstrikes across the country, denouncing the attacks as a flagrant violation of international law and Syrian sovereignty.

According to Syrian authorities, Israeli forces launched coordinated strikes on five separate locations within a 30-minute window, with one of the most severe targeting Hama Military Airport, leaving it nearly destroyed.

The strikes reportedly injured dozens of civilians and military personnel, marking one of the most intense bombardments in recent months.

In its official statement, the Syrian government accused Israel of carrying out a “deliberate and unjustified escalation” designed to further destabilize Syria at a time when the country is trying to rebuild after over a decade of conflict.

“These repeated attacks are part of a clear Israeli strategy to normalize violence within Syria,” the statement read, warning that such operations aim to undermine recovery efforts and entrench a culture of impunity.

Syria is now urging the international community, including the United Nations, to take a firm and immediate stance. Damascus is demanding that pressure be exerted on Israel to halt its aggression, respect international law, and adhere to the terms of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement, which was meant to maintain stability along the Syrian-Israeli ceasefire line.

“We call on all relevant international bodies to intervene and prevent further violations before this escalation spirals beyond control,” the Foreign Ministry added.
