Kuwait's military reported Wednesday that it had intercepted a barrage of approximately 30 missiles and drones in what it described as an "Iranian aggression," leaving one person dead and numerous others wounded.

"The armed forces detected 13 hostile ballistic missiles in Kuwaiti airspace since dawn, which were intercepted above several residential areas, causing debris to fall," the military said in a statement on X. "The armed forces also detected and engaged 17 hostile drones."

The attack marks a significant escalation in regional tensions, bringing the conflict directly to Kuwaiti soil for the first time. The interceptions over residential areas caused debris to rain down on populated neighborhoods, adding to the civilian toll.

The strike comes amid the broader conflict between Iran and the United States, raising fears that Tehran is widening its military reach across the Gulf region as negotiations over a peace deal continue to stall.
