Leading Turkish telecommunications operator Turkcell has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Google to advance cloud technologies and expand digital infrastructure across Turkey, the company announced in a statement.
As part of the agreement, Turkcell will significantly expand its data center capacity, with a long-term investment plan totaling $1 billion through 2032.
The partnership is expected to enhance the company’s cloud services offering for both enterprise and public sector clients, while strengthening its position in the rapidly growing digital ecosystem.
Focus on Infrastructure, Innovation, and Localized Services
Turkcell emphasized that the cooperation will focus on developing next-generation cloud computing solutions, supported by Google’s advanced technologies and expertise.
The partnership aims to accelerate digital transformation in Turkey by offering secure, scalable, and locally tailored cloud services.
“This strategic move not only supports our vision of becoming a leading digital operator, but also reinforces Turkey’s position as a regional technology hub,” the company stated.
The expanded infrastructure is expected to cater to increasing demand for cloud-based services across industries such as finance, healthcare, education, and government services. Google Cloud technologies will be integrated into Turkcell’s service portfolio, enabling customers to access cutting-edge AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity tools.
By investing in local data centers and cloud capabilities, Turkcell also aligns with national objectives related to data sovereignty and digital resilience.
The company noted that part of the $1 billion investment will go toward ensuring compliance with Turkish data protection regulations and improving localized support and performance for Turkish users.
No financial terms of the agreement were disclosed beyond the investment commitment. The two companies are expected to share more details on project milestones and service rollouts in the coming months.
