Nestled at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Turkey has long held a crucial position in the intricate tapestry of Middle Eastern geopolitics. With its rich historical heritage and diverse cultural fabric, Turkey aspires to play a positive and constructive role in the region, championing values of peace, stability, and cooperation.

A cornerstone of Turkey's Middle East policy lies in its stance on Israel. While both countries share a history of cooperation and diplomacy, recent events have challenged this relationship. Turkey has consistently voiced its concerns regarding Israeli policies, especially those concerning Palestine and Jerusalem.

Advocating for a just and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Turkey supports a two-state framework with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, underscoring its commitment to a peaceful resolution.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has deeply troubled Turkey. The loss of innocent lives is deemed unacceptable, leading Turkey to consistently call for an immediate ceasefire and a return to negotiations. Turkey unequivocally condemns all forms of violence and remains dedicated to supporting the people of Gaza and the Palestinian territories in their quest for self-determination and statehood.

Ankara has condemned the tragic loss of 1,200 Israeli civilians on October 7th, underscoring its commitment to peace and the protection of innocent lives.

In addition to these challenges, Turkey grapples with the complex issue of the Kurdish question, particularly the presence of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party). The PKK is classified as a terrorist organization by Turkey, leading to measures taken to counter its activities.

Turkey's aim is to safeguard the rights and dignity of the Kurdish people while ensuring the safety of its own citizens. The country is steadfast in its pursuit of a peaceful and sustainable solution to this enduring issue through dialogue and negotiation.

Turkey's relations with neighboring Syria have also been a significant focus of its Middle East policy. The protracted Syrian conflict has had profound implications for the entire region.

The country has actively supported efforts to find a political solution to the crisis, emphasizing Syria's territorial integrity and the rights of all Syrian citizens. In addition, Turkey has provided vital humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict, reflecting its commitment to alleviating human suffering.

In recent developments, Turkey has also condemned the tragic loss of 1,200 Israeli civilians on October 7th, underscoring its commitment to peace and the protection of innocent lives in the region.

Ankara's Middle East policy is deeply rooted in a dedication to diplomacy, dialogue, and regional cooperation. Acknowledging the intricate complexities of the Middle East, Turkey remains steadfast in its pursuit of peaceful resolutions to pressing issues.

Whether addressing its stance on Israel, concerns regarding the Gaza conflict, efforts to address the Kurdish question, or its involvement in Syria, Turkey strives to be a constructive and stabilizing force in the region.

Through cooperation and open dialogue, Turkey believes it can contribute significantly to a more peaceful and prosperous Middle East, navigating its complex relations with Iran, Europe, and the United States to achieve this crucial goal.
