UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Thursday received Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President of Senegal, during his working visit to the United Arab Emirates, which includes participation in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in key sectors, including the economy, trade, renewable energy, sustainability, and infrastructure.

Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening long-standing relations between the UAE and Senegal, with an emphasis on sustainable growth and expanded partnerships.

Senegal is currently facing significant economic and social challenges, including unemployment, inflation, and shortages in social infrastructure.

As a result, Dakar is looking to Abu Dhabi for increased financial support and investment to help address these difficulties and advance its development priorities.
