UAE intercepts 15 missiles in latest Iranian assault

UAE air defences intercepted 15 ballistic missiles and 11 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on Thursday, the Ministry of Defence announced.

Since the start of Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 372 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,826 UAVs, according to official figures.

The attacks have claimed eleven lives, including two UAE armed forces personnel killed in the line of duty and a Moroccan civilian contracted by the military. Eight other fatalities were reported among Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationals.

A total of 169 people were injured, with wounds ranging from minor to severe. The injured came from 30 nationalities, including UAE, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and other nationals.

The Ministry of Defence stated that it "remains fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats," affirming its determination to "firmly confront anything that aims to undermine the security of the country" and protect its sovereignty, stability and national capabilities.
