The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the Trump administration's decision to designate several Muslim Brotherhood branches in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt as terrorist organisations.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said the U.S. measure reflects President Trump's sustained efforts to counter violence and destabilising activities carried out by terrorist Muslim Brotherhood branches.

The Ministry described the designation as a key step in depriving these organisations of resources that enable them to engage in, support, or justify extremism, hatred, and terrorism.

The UAE reaffirmed its support for international efforts to combat extremism and terrorism while promoting regional and global security and stability.

The designation marks a significant policy move by the Trump administration in its approach to regional security in the Middle East.
