Amos Hochstein, U.S. President Joe Biden's special envoy to the Mideast, will meet Sunday with President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Government Minister Benny Gantz.

Hochstein came to Israel as part of his efforts to reach an agreement with Lebanon, which would prevent a war between Israel and Hezbollah.

A senior Israeli official estimated that the chance that Hochstein's efforts will succeed is about 30%.

Gallant said over the weekend that if there is a truce in the fighting in the Gaza Strip, Israel will not fire against Hezbollah in the north, even if the terrorist organization does fire at Israel.
