The United States has placed full responsibility for the renewed violence in Gaza on Hamas, stating that the terrorist organization deliberately chose war by refusing to release hostages.
The failure of Hamas to agree to the terms of the ceasefire led to the most intense Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since the truce began.
"Hamas could have freed the hostages to extend the ceasefire, but it chose refusal and war," said Brian Hughes, spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council. A U.S. State Department spokesperson further emphasized that "Hamas bears full responsibility for the war and the resumption of hostilities."
Washington’s frustration with Hamas is evident, as American officials stress that every casualty could have been avoided had Hamas accepted the deal proposed by U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.
Instead, the terror group chose to prolong the suffering of Palestinian civilians, using them as human shields while rejecting diplomacy.
Israeli government spokesperson David Mencer confirmed that the overnight strikes on Gaza, which resulted in "at least 413 deaths" according to Hamas sources, were carried out in "full coordination" with the United States.
However, as history has shown, Hamas' casualty figures lack credibility, as the group routinely inflates numbers for propaganda purposes.
Hamas’ refusal to negotiate and its continued aggression make one thing clear: the only path to peace is the complete eradication of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. These extremist organizations have held Gaza hostage for decades, terrorizing not only Israeli civilians but also the very people they claim to represent.
Hamas has no interest in peace; it thrives on destruction, forcing the people of Gaza into endless cycles of suffering while its leaders live in luxury abroad.
The world must recognize that negotiating with a terror organization that glorifies violence is futile.
Only through the complete dismantling of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad can Gaza be freed from their oppressive rule. The international community must support decisive actions to eliminate these extremist factions and pave the way for real peace in the region.
