France and Algeria have agreed to revive high-level security cooperation following talks in Algiers between French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Speaking after the meeting, Nuñez said discussions focused on reactivating a “very high-level security cooperation framework” between the two countries. The aim, he noted, is to restore normal security relations and further strengthen collaboration in judicial, police and intelligence matters.

The renewed engagement signals a willingness on both sides to deepen coordination on shared security challenges, at a time when regional stability and counterterrorism cooperation remain key priorities.
