During a visit to the Ramtha Border Crossing with Syria’s Daraa province on Thursday, Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya, assessed the facilities and reported an uptick in passenger and truck traffic at the Jaber Border Crossing.
Al-Faraya noted that since November 6, the Jaber Border Crossing has seen significant activity, with 2,000 trucks moving in and out of the country. In addition, 18,000 Syrians returned to Syria during this period, including refugees, residents, and transit passengers arriving from other countries via Jordan. Of these, 2,800 were Syrian refugees previously living in camps or various regions across the Kingdom.
The increased traffic underscores the strategic importance of the border crossings in facilitating trade and movement between Jordan and Syria.
